Minister
REV. GREGORY FLINT has been a UCC pastor since 1972, receiving his seminary training at United Theological Seminary in Minnesota. He was pastor at Peace UCC, Duluth, MN from 1972-1985, before being called by our Eugene congregation in 1985. Pastor Greg's spouse Susan, is Director of Human Resources at RiverBend Hospital. They have 2 married children and 2 grandchildren. A day off will often find Greg weeding his flower beds at their Springfield home.
Associate Minister
REV. MELANIE OOMMEN has been associate minister at FCC since 1997. She received her M.Div. degree from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California, in 1996. As a seminary student, Pastor Melanie served churches in Modesto and San Jose, California. As pastor, preacher, and teacher, Pastor Melanie provides leadership with FCC's social justice ministries, and youth and young adult ministries, including the Our Whole Lives Sexuality and Spirituality Program, and Peace Village. Melanie is passionate about being a global citizen and has lived and traveled extensively in Latin America, Europe, and India. She is married to Anil Oommen and they have three children: Kiran, Caleb, and Gitanjali.
Associate Minister
REV. JANET SCOTT has been on staff since 1992. She started as the Director of Children’s Ministries, became a licensed minister in 2003 and was ordained in 2008. She moved to Eugene in 1990 with her husband, Jerry, and three daughters, Jessica, Jillian, and Jenna.
They are originally from Missouri and have also lived in Colorado and California. She has worked as a teacher and a psychiatric social worker. Janet enjoys exploring through travel, hiking, and new experiences.
Director of Fellowship Ministries
GEORGE SHANNON MADDOX has been on staff since 2003 as Director of Fellowship Ministries. She shares the enthusiasm of the Parish Life Committee with the congregation through coordination of intergenerational events throughout the year. She and her husband, Ken, enjoy gardening, the outdoors and any activities with their children, extended family and friends.
Director of Children's Ministries
ROBIN FRANCISCO moved to Eugene, OR from Columbia, MO in 2001. She grew up in a small Disciples of Christ church in the Midwest and has a passion for learning and teaching, both in the spiritual/private and public sectors. She has a teaching degree in Secondary Language Arts and a Master's degree in Secondary School Counseling. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, volunteering at her children's school, gardening, reading, and bike riding.
Director of Music Ministries
DR. BARBARA BAIRD has served as Director of Music Ministries since 1982. She has been a member of the University of Oregon music faculty since 1989, teaching organ, harpsichord, and piano. An active recitalist since 1971, Baird has performed throughout the United States as well as Argentina, Brazil, Europe and Australia. A frequent adjudicator and clinician, she regularly conducts workshops and master classes for keyboardists, particularly on Baroque and Classic Period Performance. Baird has been a presenter and recitalist at both national and regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists, and the Organ Historical Society, and for piano teachers' guilds in the United States and Australia.

JEANIE NEVEN has been serving as the choir director with First Congregational Church for several years. She received her Master's Degree in Choral Conducting and Horn Performance at the University of Oregon. Currently Jeanie teaches music at Briggs Middle School in Springfield and enjoys working with musicians of all ages.
Joyful Noise Choir Co-Director
DEBI NOEL has taught music in the Bethel School District, Oak Hill School, Lane Community College, and the University of Oregon. She has taught clinics and workshops in Orff around the state. As a performer, Debi sings with the vocal trio, The Jewel Tones, plays with the Recorder Ensemble, Steel Drum and Marimba Bands. She continues to be active directing children’s musical theater in Eugene.

JENNIFER SELLERS has been involved in Church Music since she began planning and leading "Sunday School Opening Exercises" at 8 years old. From her start as one of the "Singing Sellers Sisters," she has sung in School, Church and Community Choirs her whole life, and sings presently with The Jewel Tones. She enjoys community theatre and making music of all kinds. She teaches private piano lessons out of her home studio.
Keyboardist
VICKI BRABHAM is a local pianist, singer, arranger, and music educator. She has made First Congregational church her home for over 15 years, and enjoys integrating jazz, blues, gospel, and other contemporary styles into the worship at FCC. She is an original member of the Emerald City Jazz Kings, and a music instructor at Lane Community College. Vicki can also be seen conducting musical theater projects in schools and community theater throughout the year, and is active with the Shedd Institute's summer Oregon Festival of American Music. She accompanies the Women's Choral Society, and is a frequent guest artist with the Eugene Concert Choir. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, Ducks Football, crossword puzzles, a good cup of coffee, and the everyday joys of life with her partner, Grace, and two children, Rene' (10) and Samuel (5).
Administrative Assistant
SARAH NEILL has been a life-long member of First Congregational Church, Eugene and has worked as the administrator in the church office for over seven years. Prior to that, she was a stay-at-home mom and active volunteer in the Pleasant Hill Schools. Her husband Pat is managing partner of a Eugene law firm and her three grown sons now work and/or go to school in Rainier, OR, L.A. and Boston.
Bookkeeper
SUE HUTCHINSON CAREY has been the bookkeeper for FCC over nine years and for CPS three years. Before that her daughter, Zoe, attended preschool here. Zoe is now a college student. Sue earned a BFA in 1983 from School of Visual Arts in NYC. Outside work and church, Sue loves rock climbing, bicycling, hiking, camping and art-making; she also volunteers for Eugene Mountain Rescue.
