Pride Celebration—August 14
Our church is once again participating in Eugene/Springfield’s annual PRIDE celebration: one heart, one world, one pride. Join us for a few hours and help celebrate the dignity of every human life. Two volunteers are needed to help with the setting up and taking down of two canopies, tables, and chairs. Others could help by staffing the table for part of the day (12 noon-7 p.m.) and/or by baking goods to share with visitors. We will sit with other congregations who stand for dignity as part of Eugene’s Religious Response Network. Contact Judy McHugh (541-338-7833) to volunteer or dishydro@yahoo.com.
Give the Gift of Sight by
Donating Used Eyeglasses
The Lions Club International collects used eyeglasses for distribution to needy people in impoverished nations. The Eugene Downtown Lions have received approval from this church to place a collection box in the Fellowship Hall. Lion Jim Newton, a member of this church, will collect the glasses and sort them for later distribution to the needy. In addition to eyeglasses, you may also place used hearing aids and cell phones in the box.
