This year seven youth and two adults are invited to travel to the Susanville Rancheria to repair homes and do other community improvement work on the rancheria located in the town of Susanville. The rancheria was established in the 1920s—members are descendants of Maidu, Pit River, Paiute, and Washoe Tribes. The tribe currently has about 700 members and holds over 1000 acres of land. There is an active home-maintenance department with which we will be working. The cost per participant is $360, and the group can do fundraising to offset expenses. A deposit of $50 will hold a space. Adult leaders are welcome to apply! (sierraserviceproject.org)
