Youth Groups

November 12
It is my pleasure to share with you that we will have a special guest for youth groups this coming Sunday, November 12. Toni Reynolds is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary in New York and from 2016-17 served in the Dominican Republic on behalf of Global Ministries of the Disciples of Christ and United Church of Christ. Toni will be preaching in worship, sharing the inspiring and challenging message of how we might embody God’s Vision of “A Just World for All.”
Immediately following worship, both MS and HS Youth Groups are invited to the Consecration Luncheon in Fellowship Hall, where we will have tables reserved for the youth to sit together and hopefully have an opportunity to meet Toni. Once everyone is finished with lunch, we will move upstairs to the Wheeler Room, where Toni will be leading some activities with the youth and also allowing time for Q & A.
This will be our youth group time together this Sunday, in place of our normal meeting times. I am expecting that we will move to the Wheeler Room at approximately 11:45, and be there until 1:15.
I strongly encourage all youth to attend, as Toni is a dynamic individual with a lot to offer our youth!

Youth leaders create developmentally appropriate experiences for youth to grow holistically in our intergenerational community.  We believe in a healthy balance of play and spiritual reflections to help us develop a sense of kindred relations.  Our time together affords us the opportunity to gather, share, learn from one another, and explore the meaning of our faith and the blessing of being in a community of faith and service increasing compassion and  justice in the world.

Middle & High School Youth Groups

Middle School Youth Group will meet after worship, from 11:30 – 1:00 p.m., in the youth room upstairs (Mark Lindberg’s office). A snack will be provided!

High School Youth Group will meet in the evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m., also in the upstairs youth room.

Parents: Please contact Mark, our Director of Youth & Family Ministries, markl@fcceugene.org, if you are able to volunteer to be an extra adult at these meetings! Even if you are only able to commit to one meeting, that is still helpful! Mark is compiling a list of volunteers and would greatly appreciate your service – and so would the youth. This is a great opportunity to engage with our church youth and be a part of their faith formation! Thank you for your support of our youth at FCC!

Lake Fellowship Events 2018

Fern Ridge Lake, Veneta, OR

July 28 – High School, 2-5 (Saturday)

July 29 – Middle School, 2-5 (Sunday)

Youth are invited to our summer lake parties at the South Shore Ski Club. The Gill and Travis families have generously offered to host this event again at their lake property. There will be opportunities to swim, kayak, boat and paddle board… followed by sandwiches and potluck sides around 4:00. This is a great time for us to create and strengthen connections, begin building our group dynamics, and to start thinking about the year ahead as youth transition to the next grade and corresponding youth group. It is also just a lot of FUN! Don’t miss this one!
