Our Faith in the Future:
Building on Our Legacy of Community and Caring
The Capital Campaign has succeeded in raising over $2 million for the renovation and addition to our church building. Our congregation at it's June 12, 2005 meeting approved the Capital Campaign Report.
The Church Board has operated with a fairly conservative framework that we believe keeps covenant with the mission of this project and our church. We wanted to share some aspects of that framework with you.
We do not want to incur a long term debt (mortgage) to execute this project.
Short term financing will likely be necessary as pledges will be paid at varying intervals, including some made over a 5 year period.
The Congregational Meeting marks the “official” end of fundraising for the Capital Campaign.
Additional pledges/gifts will be directed into a newly created Building Fund.
All future income and construction payout will be separately administered with an additional dedicated checking account.
We have finalized our gift to Habitat for Humanity at $30,000.
We have finalized our gift to the Conference at $150,000.
We will keep our campaign administrator on staff to continue monitoring and responding to the needs of the Campaign.
The Church Board will continue to evaluate Campaign budgets and financial statements and as numbers change will enlist the Design Working Group to establish priorities.
