New Adult Education offerings for Lent, beginning Sunday, February 21 at 9am:

Chapel:
“SAVING JESUS”

Do you ever feel like Jesus has been kidnapped by the Christian Right?  “Saving Jesus” is an exploration of Jesus Christ for the third millennium.   A video will be shown featuring leading religious voices of our day, followed by opportunities to discuss ideas and materials each week.

Adult Classes held Sunday morning during the Education Hour at 9:00 a.m.

Wheeler Room:
"FOR EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON:
A LENTEN SERIES ON FACING MORTALITY"
This class will be led by Pastor Greg.
The one sure thing about life is that we are mortal—we will all die, as well as face the deaths of loved ones.  Yet, we live in a death-denying culture and the cost of denial—emotional, spiritual, financial—is high.

Lent is the season when we recall how Jesus faced his mortality.  It is a good season to talk about this part of life and the related issues: advance directives, hospice, palliative care, care-giving, family dynamics, wills, medicine, memorial services, grief, faith, hope.

“For everything there is a season . . . A time to be born and a time to die.”

Clark Room: VOYAGERS CLASS

What are the messages in the Bible for us in this day and age?  Are the scriptures still relevant?  This class will explore the sermon and lectionary texts throughout the Bible.  Come and join fellow companions on this spiritual journey in which we look at the text and engage with one another to get the most out of our study each week.  A bible study that follows the lectionary calendar of readings used in worship, each class is independent and visitors are always welcome.  We will gather in the Clark Room, just off the Atrium downstairs at 9 a.m. each Sunday. Teachers are Laura Evanisko and Sarah Kingery.

Other Adult Offerings throughout the week:

The Way of Grace
Would you like to open your heart to a deeper knowing of God’s grace?  Come explore eight Biblical characters who discover God’s grace through their encounters with Jesus.  Be part of transforming interaction with these events and characters.  Contact Paster Janet, 541-345-8741, to join this group starting in March.
