Adult Education for the Lenten Season
Beginning Sunday, February 26 at 9 a.m.:

Adult Education

Just Eating? Practicing Our Faith at the Table
in the Wheeler Room
Some people live to eat, while others eat to live. It’s something most of us do several times a day and often without much thought as to the deep biblical and spiritual meanings which underlie and give meaning to the act. This six-week Lenten class combines biblical study, mindfulness, and social/political analysis in ways that will enrich our Lenten experience and help transform our place at the Table with one another and with Jesus. Don Gall will be the facilitator.

The Seven Last Words
in the Chapel
A Lenten Season series on Jesus’ words from the cross. This class will be led by Pastor Greg.

Ecumenical Carbon Fast
in the Barber Room
For Lent this year consider joining members of the FCC Earth Stewardship Team in the Ecumenical Carbon Fast. To sign up, Google “Ecumenical Carbon Fast.” You will receive daily emails starting Ash Wednesday, February 22, on practices that will help reduce your carbon footprint and help start some conversations around caring for creation and global warming. Join us on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. starting on February 26 and discuss the items for that week and their meaning in your life. This group will use the “Disciplines” model of daily practice where we listen to and support each others’ efforts without judgment.

Taize
In the Chapel once a month

The spiritual practice of singing as prayer (also known as Taize or chanting) is a powerful tool used by many people to clear their minds and draw closer to God. We will offer a Taize singing time each month at 9 a.m. in the Chapel. Vicki Brabham will lead these sessions. All are welcome.

New Member Class

Are you interested in learning more about First Congregational Church and/or membership?  Seasonally we hold our six-week class for those interested at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings.  This series concludes with the opportunity to join the church on the following Sunday. You may contact the church office (541-345-8741) with any questions or to get more information.
